Description

Piano — Florian Pichlbauer is a pianist and composer with a wide artistic range. This autumn will be dominated by his new piano compositions, which will be released individually by Universal Edition and then published in a collected edition. The sheet music editions will be released in parallel with the audio tracks, which were produced in collaboration with Pichlbauer’s label Supreme Music, starting with Valse No. 1. This piece was written in March this year in Paris during his work at the Théâtre national de la Colline. Close by lies Père Lachaise Cemetery, where Frédéric Chopin rests. This immediate presence left its mark on the piece: a waltz of lyrical elegance, rich harmony, and a middle section with surprising polka-like drive – inspired by tradition, yet unmistakably personal.
