Description

Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone, Bass — "Da pacem Domine" (“Give peace, Lord”) was composed in 2004 for Jordi Savall in response to the Madrid train attacks. This moving prayer for peace unites Pärt’s tintinnabuli style with the simplicity of early medieval texts. Previously published in various vocal and instrumental scorings, the work now appears for male choir. Its sustained sonorities create a meditative depth that draws listeners into a timeless, contemplative sound world.
