The school’s mascot is a lion, and the title and music encapsulate the school’s spirit: the Lions ROAR!” THE LIONS ROAR may have the look, feel, and sound of a traditional march, but in the hands of imaginative and renowned composer Adolphus Hailstork, that tradition is only a starting point. Composed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Old Dominion University whose mascot is a lion, the title and music encapsulate the school’s spirit: the Lions ROAR!”
