Arabesque

Description

Guitar — Arabesque was written for David Starobin in honor of George Crumb’s 70th birthday.xa0 The work’s opening melody, a formal, perhaps courtly gesture, is developed, spun out, then quietly asked back at the end.xa0 Arabesque is intended as a gesture of gratitude (a bow, or doff of the cap) for two artists I greatly admire.
