Euphonium, Piano — From the title page of both the treble and bass clef euphoniumxa0 parts:"ENGLISH SUITE is based upon music from the 16th and 17th centuries.xa0 Two of the melodies are identified with specific composers:xa0 "Rule Britannia" was composed by Thomas Arne (1710-1788) and "My Lovely Celia" by George Munro (1680-1731).xa0 The remaining melodies are closely related to folk songs and not attributed to specific composers.xa0 In the first and final movements, two songs of similar styles are combined.xa0 The remaining three movements are lyric in character, and the solo instrument plays the melody and then a descant as the original melody is played by the piano."
