Description
Harpsichord — The present revision of the six sonatas for harpsichord, by Domenico Cimarosa (Aversa, Naples, 17 December 1749; Venice, 11 January 1801), is based on the manuscript belonging to the "Fondo Musicale Noseda" in the library of the Conservatory "Guiseppe Verdi" of Milan. The title of the manuscript (certainly not original, but the work of a copyist) is as follows:Sonate per Cembalo / del Sig.r D.n Domenico Cimarosa / Per uso della Sig.ra D. Norina AnguilliThe revision conforms to the manuscript, with the editor's additions enclosed in parenthesis. This is the first edition of the work, which is mentioned in Cimarosa's catalog of works in the encyclopedia LA MUSICA (UTET, Turin, 1966).
