Clarinet in Eb, Clarinet in Bb 1, Clarinet in Bb 2, Clarinet in Bb 3, Alto Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Sopranino Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone 1, Soprano Saxophone 2, Alto Saxophone 1, Alto Saxophone 2, Tenor Saxophone 1, Tenor Saxophone 2, Baritone Saxophone, Contra-alto Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, Bass Saxophone — ‘The Bells of Sainte-Genevieve du Mont de Paris’ is a work by Marin Marais written in 1723, originally for viol, violin and harpsichord with basso continuo.  The original is written as a passacaglia or chaconne.  This arrangement for clarinet/saxophone choir is a slightly shortened version of the original with rhythmic and melodic interest in all parts.  Considering this work is nearly 300 years old, this ensemble gives the music a surprisingly contemporary sound.
