Birthday Escapades

Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Violoncello — Everybody knows "Happy Birthday to you". But here it is certainly evaluated due to the instruments (a string quartet) and the composition form (a sonata form). The funny piece is easy to play and thus well suited for music schools. And it will be a highlight on every birthday party or as an encore at a quartet concert. Johann Peter Gampl teaches composition and aural training at the University of Augsburg and is a freelance composer.
