Dream of the Cherry Blossoms

Description

Marimba — "Dream of the Cherry Blossoms" was composed based on an improvisation on the theme of the Japanese folk song "Sakura, sakura...". In this marimba solo, the world of fantasy is captured in a space of perpetually falling cherry blossoms. The central note E is integrated throughout the piece and (except in the last two bars) is always played at the same tempo. The folk song theme is revisited several times, more or less fragmentarily, and should always be played consciously and clearly.
