Piano — Passages of dark, angular music are balanced with tender lyricism in Samuel Zyman’s CONCERTO NO. 2 for Piano and Orchestra. Written during the COVID-19 pandemic and premiered in Mexico in 2023, struggle searches for rest and resolution across a virtuosic and dramatic canvas, blending Romanticism with Latin American vernacular music elements. The two piano version was created by the composer, and is well suited for use in recital performance, as well as for rehearsal to perform the solo part with orchestra.
