The piece beginswith a slow, reflective section, capturing the experience of turning the kaleidoscope gently—eachmovement causing the beads of color to shift and settle into new patterns. As the piece picks upspeed, the music mirrors the excitement of spinning the kaleidoscope quickly, with colors andshapes blending and shifting in a dazzling whirlwind. The energy builds, creating a bright andlively soundscape, propelling the piece toward an exciting and vivid conclusion."Kaleidoscope Road" was composed for the 2024 National Flute Association High School FluteChoir, directed by Janelle Janovich. It was premiered at the 2024 National Flute AssociationConvention in San Antonio, TX. Kaleidoscope Road is a vibrant musical journey, shifting from reflective melodies to a whirlwind of color and energy.
