Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3, Alto Flute, Bass Flute, Contrabass Flute — Guilmant succeeded Widor as organ teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris, and one of his students was Marcel Dupré. His standing among organists is unquestionable. As a composer, he wrote and arranged almost exclusively for his own instrument, and made frequent use of regional Christmas songs, carols, and noëls.
