Description

Piano 1, Piano 2 — Suite for piano four hands, one of the few works of Kurtág's student years still valid, was completed in 1951. The characteristic snapshots of the four short movements fit into the trend of the age, which primarily followed music pedagogic goals. At the same time, listening to the recording of the Kurtág couple made in 1955, preserved in the archives of the Magyar Rádió, reveals the power and subtlety hidden in these short pieces (the recording was published in the BMCCD233 album "György Kurtág and Márta Kurtág play Kurtág").
