Compatible Wind Ensembles: Concert Trios

Description

Clarinet in Bb, Trumpet, Tenor Saxophone, Bb Euphonium — The 18 works in this flexible trio series offers students from different sections the opportunity to collaborate in ways not always afforded by full ensemble repertoire. It is important that students connect with each other using music of different cultures, different styles, and different composers. Each work was selected for its quality, musical interest, and appropriateness in a chamber setting. Within these trios, there are a variety of developmentally appropriate key signatures, time signatures, and technical levels. Each trio provides unique challenges that as students cooperate, collaborate, and connect with each other while rehearsing, they will see growth in their individual musicianship, become intuitive musicians, and seek out ways to confidently share their music with their communities.
