Description
Baritone Saxophone — Accidentals apply only to notes that they immediately precede with the exception of tied and consecutively repeatednotes. Courtesy accidentals are occasionally supplied for clarity. The tempo is consistent throughout the meter changes (i.e., e=e, x=x, etc.).Multiphonic fingerings were derived from Daniel Kientzy’s Les Sons Multiples aux Saxophones (Salabert). Circlednumbers to the left of the fingering diagram correspond with the fingering numbers in Kientzy’s text. One exceptionis in m. 114 where the fingering for number 14 was substituted for number 2 as it yielded more consistent results forthe intended sonority. No vibrato is to be used throughout the piece. This is a transposed score.Approximate duration: 12 minutes Eckardt's intricate solo was commissioned by the New York State Music Fund/Meet the Composer for Taimur Sullivan, who premiered the work in March 2008. For advanced performers, who wish to explore the full range of the instrument's capabilities. Dur.: 12'
