Description

Piano — Requiem was intended to be a guitar solo, but Richter decided that it "needed more power and sonority," and so turned to the piano. Even so, many aspects of the guitar are carried over to the keyboard, from "guitar-like passages and the circumscribed four-and-a-third octave range."
