Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin 3, Viola, Cello, Contrabass, Piano — Carol of the Bells is a holiday tune that my students request year after year, particularly my beginning players. I wrote this arrangement with the goal of creating something that was well within the reach of beginning players--with simple notes and rhythms, and in a range where they could produce good tone and intonation. The addition of We Three Kings makes it a little more interesting for the player and the listener. I hope your students enjoy this arrangement! The iconic Carol of the Bells is a favorite winter melody, and this easy arrangement puts the spirited theme within reach of young string players. Simple rhythms, ranges, and finger patterns in E minor allow all sections to shine, with hints of We Three Kings skillfully woven into the score. Exciting articulations, dramatic dynamics, and bright pizzicato accompaniments make this a stellar addition to any winter concert!
