Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin 3, Viola, Cello, Contrabass, Piano — This waltz-style piece features a gentle melody with unique harmonies to create a tranquil and mysterious mood. Play each phase carefully to build up to the emotional peak, then as the main theme returns at m. 55, the music can be played clearly and with a “risoluto” feeling. Imagine two people dancing under wisteria throughout the piece. This waltz-style piece features a gentle melody with unique harmonies to create a tranquil and mysterious mood. Perfect for the developing string orchestra, the simple rhythms are limited to mainly half-notes and quarter-notes, but the beautiful melody and rich countermelodies give the ensemble a mature sound.
