The repeated measures of 59-60 allow for an accompanist or soloist to improvise while the choir sings and claps along for as many repeats as desired. The number of repeats is up to the discretion of the conductor. If there is no improvisation, it is recommended that mm. 59-60 be sung three times before moving on.
