Renaissance Trios

Description

Trumpet in Bb 1, Trumpet in Bb 2, Trumpet in Bb 3 — As with Renaissance Duets for Two Trumpets (BQ116), the clear voicing and counterpoint and the resulting economical harmonies provide opportunities to increase awareness of balance and intonation. The independence of parts requires rhythmic security and can help develop confidence of individual players. An added benefit of the trios would be their use for transposition practice. Beyond pedagogical uses, it is hoped that these trios will provide music for enjoyable trumpet ensemble collaboration.
