Solo for Voice I

Description

This work can be performed alone or with any part of Cage's Concert for Piano and Orchestra (EP 6705a-n). The score consists of 2 pages, each with 8 systems, and any amount of material from the solo may be used. Notes are in 3 sizes, referring to amplitude and/or duration. Cage suggests the use of microtonal alterations of pitches, as well as the use of noises. Both time lengths and dynamics are free. The text is a collage of German, English, and French words.
