Description
11 PEZZI INFANTILI "11 Children's Pieces" were composed by Italian composer, pianist, conductor, and music critic Alfredo Casella in 1920. A varied and playful collection of pieces using various clever musical techniques to portray childhood. For example in several pieces (e.g., "Prelude", "Carillon") Casella has one hand play on the white keys and the other on the black keys. Thus, the harmony of the diatonic C major scale (white keys), competes with the harmony of the pentatonic children's scale (black keys). Pieces included: I. Preludio; II. Valse Diatonique; III. Canone; IV. Bolero; V. Omaggio a Clementi; VI. Siciliana; VII. Giga; VIII. Minuetto; IX. Carillon; X. Berceuse; XI. Galop Final. Reprint edition.
