Franz Josef Strauss (1822-1905 was a German composer and virtuoso horn player. He was the principal horn player of the Bavarian Court opera and taught at the Royal School of Music in Munich. The studies are written in contrasting styles, many based on themes from Beethoven's works. These are edited by Richard Strauss and Hugo R�del, horn player and chorus master. Reprint edition.
