"Aura Lee" and "Dixie" are well-known tunes from the 19th century that still have popular appeal. Legato playing is necessary for the proper interpretation of "Aura Lee," and "Dixie" should be played in a light but energetic staccato-marcato. An excellent piece for concert of contest!
