Igneous

Description

Igneous, by Sarah Siegler, is a fiery work for concert band. It starts with an energetic flourish, and then the low brass sections get the first chance at the melody. The piece has a driving melody in a minor key and exciting rhythms that will challenge and engage second-year band students. The percussion parts keep everyone involved and on the edge of their seats. The word "igneous" means "fiery," and the piece describes the hot, fiery rock from start to finish!
